What is GaiaStarter

GaiaStarter is a blockchain platform designed to provide an easy to use launchpad for cross-chain token pools and auctions. It is most commonly used by early-stage blockchain projects that want to raise capital and easily distribute their tokens at the same time.

Through GaiaStarter, blockchain projects can easily create their own swap pools, which allow them to securely raise funds, while users can invest without risks, since swaps are automatically executed by smart contracts.

The platform first went live in April 2022, and has quickly released to become one of the most commonly used platforms for initial DEX offerings (IDOs) on AstarNetwork, which is the Smart Contract HUB for WASM + EVM and the top Parachain on Polkadot. As of April 2022, GaiaStarter operates on the AstarNetwork blockchain.

About Astar Network

GaiaStarter is a native-app built on top of Astar Network.

Astar Network is the Smart Contract HUB for WASM + EVM and the top Parachain on Polkadot. Astar Network aims to be the biggest hub for the multi-chain era by bridging with Ethereum, Cosmos, and others. Astar Network is also a dApp hub on Polkadot that supports Ethereum, WebAssembly, and layer 2 solutions like ZK Rollups.

Astar aims to be a multi-chain smart contract platform that will support multiple blockchains and virtual machines. Polkadot Relay Chain doesn’t support smart contracts. That’s why it’s important for the ecosystem to have a parachain that enables this for all developers who want to build in the Polkadot ecosystem. Astar is here to provide the best solution for all developers by supporting EVM and making a parachain where EVM and WASM smart contracts can co-exist and communicate with each other.

Like Dr. Gavin Wood said, Ethereum’s EVM is right now, but WASM is the future, and Astar will support both EVM and WASM. Thus, we believe there will be many more developers in Astar’s ecosystem.
